What is Office 365 and why does my business need it?

6th April 2020

Microsoft Office 365 is a cloud-based subscription service that brings together the very best tools for you and your employees to work alone or collaboratively. With the subscription, your team get access to the likes of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and more from any device.

Having Office 365, your workforce can maintain productivity no matter where they are, online or offline, at their desks, or on-the-go via mobile devices.

Keep in contact

Office 365 also brings you Outlook and Exchange which syncs emails, calendars, and contact information across your devices in real time, so information is always up to date. Depending on the package chosen, staff can make use of up to 100GB of storage and send attachments as large as 125MB.

Efficient and effective document sharing

Members of your team will be able to access and share files stored online using OneDrive, which means that you can be confident everyone is always working on the same version, via real time editing. Plus, they can collaborate and manage documents online using SharePoint.

Team Communication

Over the last few weeks it has become more important than ever before to keep team communication flowing, as the majority of the UK have switched to working from home. In the office environment you don’t have to worry about ease of communication, collaborating with peers on projects or staying productive and on task. With Office 365 you can maintain this communication and stay connected with employees, clients and other business connections via Microsoft Teams.

Accessed via web browser or the app, Teams gives all employees in your organization a central location to chat, hold meetings, video call and share files and apps. With functionality to have one-on-one conversations, or company-wide discussions, your team will be able to maintain momentum (arguably even faster than in the office!).
