Challenger Business Communications – built around our customers to set the standard.
We were established by Jeff Eamens and Wayne Skellon. In the years that followed we opened retail outlets around the northwest tailoring unique mobile packages for individuals.
Prior to the introduction of pre-pay phones we decided to focus on the corporate sector, and employed additional field sales and telesales staff.
Jeff and Wayne launched Direct Mobile Solutions and Tariff Checkers, focusing on attracting customers with great deals, whilst Challenger concentrated on the customer service aspect of the business.
Due to ongoing success more and more staff were employed, and all divisions needed to be in one place. All staff were transferred to premises on Deeside Industrial Park which has now become our HQ.
Challenger Mobile Communications and Tariff Checkers merged into one company.
Joined the O2 Partner Channel.
We added VoIP to our product portfolio as the next big must-have for businesses.
Acquired On Air Telecom base.
A MBO (management buyout) took place that saw Jeff become the sole owner of Challenger. An exciting time for Challenger to grow and move forward.
Saw us rebrand as Challenger Business Communications with a new logo and completely redesigned website.

Due to the global pandemic the majority of Challenger staff moved to remote working to ensure the safety of all employees. We also helped hundreds of our customers to do the same.
Our 30th anniversary! We incorporated a new logo to reflect our 30 years in business, decorated the office with balloons and banners, and organised a Chester Zoo trip for all staff and families to help us celebrate this important milestone.
We installed solar panels on the office roof to become more self-sufficient and move closer to net zero.
Moved to permanent hybrid working to promote a better work/life balance for staff and reduce our collective commuting impact.
