On Saturday 14th September, Challenger held the very first ChallFest Annual Staff Party, a festival to celebrate the company’s relaunch following the successful management buyout.
The MBO, which finalised earlier this year, was supported by a £1.4m investment from the Development Bank of Wales which will support the business’ aims to strengthen the service offering and position in the market. To celebrate this development, the Challenger team hosted the soon-to-be annual event.
This year, the event took place at the scenic Penbedw Estate in Flintshire and, on arrival, employees were greeted with a Steel Drum Band, inflatable obstacles, a bucking sheep and glitter face painting. Well-fed with a range of fantastic food from pizzas, cakes and a fabulous hog roast, the event allowed everyone to spend the day together as a team outside of work and to reconnect as a Challenger family. As the party continued into the evening, the team danced the night away to a DJ and disco in the yurt.
CEO, Jeff Eamens said: “Our first ChallFest was a success and employees had such a fantastic day. I am thoroughly looking forward to ChallFest 2020 and planning more events like this in the near future.”
