Genial Genetics Solutions

Genial Genetic Solutions Limited develops and distributes laboratory informatics software solutions for the fields of pathology and genetics.

Established in 2001 and based in Chester in the UK, Genial’s flagship products include iPassport and iGene, which continue to be developed and improved in collaboration with their growing customer base to ensure that they remain at the forefront of managed software services for this sector.

Having had an on-site, home-built phone system based on FreeSwitch BSD they were in danger of obsolete hardware and lack of knowledge about the solution causing business continuity issues – that’s when they contacted Challenger to move over to a VoIP telephony solution.

VoIP (Voice over IP) Telephone Systems

Challenger migrated their ISDN lines and set up new desk phones for all staff members. This was a massive risk taken away by moving their phone system off-premise.

When the pandemic hit, the company left the office and the VoIP solution allowed them to take their desk phones with them and plug in at home, meaning business could carry on as normal.

Plus, with ISDN coming to an end soon, the move to the cloud will remove a management overhead of IT departments and assist in disaster recovery.
